The Affordable Care Act has helped millions of young people stay healthy — whether it was through coverage on the marketplace, staying on a parents' plan until they were 26, or coverage through an employer, the ACA made health care more acccessible and affordable.
Now all of that is under attack. Congressional Republicans have put forth a health care bill that will take coverage away from 24 million Americans by 2026. And their continuous coverage provision is essentially a "Millennial penalty," charging steep penalities for lapses in coverage that are most likely to be felt by young people moving around for education and job opportunities.
